The first ever “Original Round Kicking Block” TM is now available to the American football marketplace. Prokicker.com has designed the most innovative extra point and field goal kicking block since the original “square” kicking block was developed over 50 years ago! Now instead of needing to align the traditional squared – front edge of the block toward the target, kickers can now position the “round” kicking block precisely on the desired point of placement (on the ground) with no aiming necessary!
Since the kicking block is now “round” there are no edges…therefore nothing to align…it’s that simple. By using the “round” kicking block, kickers can now focus on the point of placement and not be concerned that the block is aligned correctly. This is exactly what college and pro players do…they focus on the point of placement (since there are no blocks allowed at that level of play). Other than slight elevation- using the “round” kicking block is basically no different than kicking “off the ground” where there is no block used…and therefore nothing to align.
For years, young kickers (blocks are allowed up through high school level) have been conditioned to align the kicking block in a position (the front squared edge) directly toward the target. This wasn’t wrong but it wasn’t absolutely necessary either. It is actually more important for kickers to correctly mark their steps (when setting up) and aligning the body based on the point of placement and the target. The innovative “round” design eliminates kickers having to align the placement block. It allows them to focus more on the target and their body alignment when marking off steps.
The solid rubber, tapered design gives the Original Round Kicking Block the ideal weight and stability for a more true support of the football when being held. There is no open cavity therefore there is a very stable – more solid base to hold the football on every placement. Other blocks on the market tend to be very hard and some are even plastic-like. Since they are not solid they tend to allow the football to “sink” where there is very little support underneath.
